Peter J. Krotec was born in Miami, Florida. In 1984, Mr. Krotec was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and also earned a minor in economics and political science from the Florida State University. While attending Florida State University, Mr. Krotec was an active member of the Theta Chi Fraternity; Criminology Honor Society; Lambda Alpha Epsilon Criminology Club; and, the FSU Pre Law Society. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Krotec attended the Stetson University College of Law located at St. Petersburg, Florida, and was awarded a Juris Doctorate Degree in 1987.

Mr. Krotec was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1988 and was employed as an Assistant State Attorney for the Twelfth (12th) Judicial Circuit of the State of Florida until 1989. Mr. Krotec joined the firm as an associate in 1989 and became a partner of the firm in 1994. Mr. Krotec has served as a managing partner of the firm for several years. He is currently a member of the Florida Bar and of the Sarasota County Bar Association. Mr. Krotec is licensed and admitted to practice before all Florida state courts as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Krotec has devoted his practice to the law of domestic relations, primarily concerning cases for dissolution of marriage involving such issues as the division of assets and liabilities between divorcing spouses; resolution of intricate property distribution disputes; determination of a parenting plan including parental responsibilities and timesharing for minor children; all support related issues, including alimony and child support; paternity; post judgment modification of marital settlement agreements and/or Final Judgments; and like family law matters, both at the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Krotec has over twenty (20) years experience practicing marital and family law and he is fully supported by several associate attorneys, legal assistants and paralegals of the firm.
