Jeffrey M. Guy has extensive roots in Sarasota County, having lived here since 1976.  He is a 1992 graduate of Riverview High School, and received an athletic scholarship to attend and play football at Fairmont State University in West Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1996.  After completing his undergraduate work Mr. Guy worked in the health care industry before leaving to start a business in Florida’s growing construction industry.  After maintaining that successful business for several years, he decided to return to school to pursue his dream of practicing law.

He was admitted to law school at Stetson University College of Law, and received his Juris Doctorate with honors, in 2011.  While in law school at Stetson, he had the distinction of receiving a book award in Consumer Protection Law, an award given for having the highest scores in his class.  He gained key trial/litigation experience as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable David D. Demers, Pinellas County Circuit Judge, and also as an intern with the State Attorney General’s Office in their Children’s Legal Services Division.

After graduation, while in preparation for his bar exam, he worked as a legal clerk at Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A.  After being admitted to the bar in 2011, became an associate attorney.

Mr. Guy focuses on all aspects of civil litigation and on Family Law matters, including divorce, paternity, custody, child support, alimony, injunctions and domestic violence.
