Amanda King has extensive roots in Sarasota County, and is a graduate of Venice High School. She attended the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. Ms. King earned her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law, where she served on the Board of the Public Interest Law Foundation.
Ms. King began her legal career as a Deputy Public Defender in Southern California where she honed her skills as a zealous and effective advocate.
Soon after returning to Sarasota in 2010, Ms. King devoted her practice to exclusively to family law matters. She has served as the co-chair of the Family Law Section of the Sarasota County Bar Association, and is a frequent presenter on family law matters.
Ms. King is active with the Sarasota County Bar Association as a member of the Young Lawyers’ Division Board of Directors. She also volunteers with the Humane Society as a foster pet parent, and is on the board of the Sarasota County Gator Club, where she serves as Chair of the Scholarship Committee. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and California.
As an associate of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A., Ms. King focuses on family law matters, including divorce, paternity, custody, child support, alimony, injunctions, and domestic violence.
