Michael L.
Resnick was born in 1945 in Monticello, New York. He grew up and
was educated in South Fallsburgh, New York. He received a Bachelor
of Arts degree from Windham College in 1967 and his Juris Doctorate
from the New England School of Law in 1970. While in law school, Mr. Resnick was the recipient of the American
Jurisprudence Awards for Pleading & Practice and Federal Jurisdiction.
He was also a member of Delta Theta Phi, a National Fraternity.
Mr. Resnick was admitted to the Florida Bar in
1973. He is one of the original four partners to form Syprett, Meshad,
Resnick & Lieb, the current firm’s predecessor. He has
over thirty (30) years experience practicing marital and family
law. He practices family law in high profile marital dissolution
and post-dissolution cases involving substantial marital assets,
complex property division issues, custody, alimony, child support,
visitation, and modification of marital settlement agreements. He
is listed in the Consumer Guidebook Law And Leading Attorneys (1996/1997)
as an exceptional Florida Attorney in the field of family law.
He has been a guest lecturer for the Florida
Bar (Continuing Legal Education), Guardian Ad Litem Program and
Hampton Seminars. He presently serves as the President of the Law
Firm of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec
& Westheimer, P.A. With a core staff consisting of four attorneys,
four legal assistants, and three paralegals, he is equipped to handle
the most sophisticated case from inception to conclusion.
Mr. Resnick is a member of The Florida Bar, the
Sarasota County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the
Academy Of Florida Trial Lawyers. He is admitted to practice law
in the State of Florida, the United States District Court of Florida
and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Resnick has also been involved for
over twenty (20) years with United Cerebral Palsy. He has been a
guest on the Annette Sherman Television Show and has appeared on
WWSB TV Channel 40 in Sarasota, Florida. He is a member of the Longboat
Key Club, serves as a Guardian Ad Litem and is a foster pet parent.
