F. Scott Westheimer
F. Scott Westheimer joined the firm as an associate in 1996 and became a partner in 2000. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was educated in the state of Florida. Mr. Westheimer graduated from the University of Florida in May of 1993, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with high honors. He attended the University of Florida College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate, with high honors, in 1996. While at the College of Law, he had the distinction of being a member of the Order of the Coif. He participated in the international law program at Leiden University in the Netherlands in the Spring of 1996, and was a teaching assistant in appellate advocacy and legal research and writing.
He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Florida Justice Association, and is a member of the American Bar Association. He is currently the Treasurer of the Sarasota County Bar Association and is one of the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors representatives for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit and serves on its Executive Committee.
Mr. Westheimer is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and Florida state courts. His practice involves primarily the representation of plaintiffs in personal injury matters and commercial litigation. He has handled cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability litigation, all aspects of commercial litigation, and general litigation. Mr. Westheimer has the published appellate decisions of Wanner v. State, 746 So.2d 478 (Fla. 2d DCA 1999); In Re: Estate of Angelica Gabrielle Salathe v. Salathe, 703 So.2d 1167 (Fla. 2d DCA 1997); and Mezroub v. Capella, 702 So.2d 562 (Fla. 2d DCA 1997).
Mr. Westheimer is also active doing various volunteer work in Sarasota County including work for United Cerebral Palsy and Pet Placement.
