Anne L. Weintraub is
a partner in the Sarasota-based firm of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh,
Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A. and joined the firm in May 2009. Ms.
Weintraub is past co-chair of the real property section of the Sarasota County
Bar Association and is past chairwoman of both the Sarasota Association of Realtors
and the Sarasota County Bar Association's Realtor/Attorney Joint Committee.
Ms. Weintraub received her juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law,
her undergraduate degree from University of South Florida and has practiced law
in Sarasota since her admission to the Florida Bar early in 2004. Ms. Weintraub
is an authorized title agent for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company,
Stewart Title & Guaranty Co., Ticor Title, and Attorney's Title Insurance
Fund.
Ms. Weintraub focuses her practice in the areas of real estate closings for the
purchase, sale, and financing of real property, title insurance, and foreclosure avoidance.
Specifically, she assists clients with short sales, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure;
purchasing bank-owned properties and negotiates various other types of work-out
agreements with lenders.
With a devotion to giving back to the community, Ms. Weintraub serves as president
of the Sarasota County Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division, a member on
the Board of Overseers of Stetson University College of Law, and as a member
of the corporate board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sarasota She is a weekly
contributor on the local ABC news channel, WWSB TV. During her segment, Ms. Weintraub
answers questions from viewers on an array of real property topics.
In 2010, Ms. Weintraub
served as a member of the faculty for the first training of mediators in
the State of Florida on the Florida Supreme Court’s mandatory order
for mediation in foreclosure of homestead properties. In 2008, she teamed
up with Legal Aid of Manasota and became instrumental
in implementing Sarasota Circuit Court Chief Judge Lee Haworth's Homestead
Conciliatory
Program and even authored the Homestead Conciliatory handbook and video for
homeowners in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties.
She donates her time frequently as a guest lecturer at Stetson University College
of Law,
the Sarasota and Manatee Association of Realtors and Ms. Weintraub regularly
hosts free
seminars in the community to benefit not just Realtors but the general public
whom otherwise may not receive any legal direction at all.
Ms. Weintraub has been called on for comment many times in national daily newspapers,
magazines and national wire services such as The Associated Press. She has
also been called on for her sound advice on the foreclosure crisis by dominant
Southwest Florida newspapers such as the New York Times-owned Sarasota Herald-Tribune
and on a more local basis by smaller dailies and weeklys in the region. In
2008, Sarasota Magazine's business publication, Biz 941, named Ms. Weintraub
one of its "Top 25 People To Watch”. |
