Angela Doyle Flaherty

Angela Doyle Flaherty was born and raised in Sarasota and attended college and law school at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction and high honors in both English and Social Work in 1994. Following her graduation from law school in 1997 when she received her Juris Doctorate with Honors, Ms. Flaherty returned to Sarasota, and joined the criminal defense firm of Filipkowski & Haynes, P.A. where she practiced for two (2) years obtaining invaluable jury trial experience. In 1999, Ms. Flaherty joined the firm of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A. and has been practicing there since, continuing her extensive jury and non-jury trial practice.

Ms. Flaherty practices in the areas of family law (including divorce, paternity, custody, child support, domestic violence, injunctions, distribution of assets and debts, alimony, step-parent adoptions, and like cases) as well as criminal defense and appellate work. The Syprett, Meshad family law department consists of a core staff of four attorneys, four legal assistants, and three paralegals, resulting in its ability to handle the most sophisticated cases from inception to conclusion.

Ms. Flaherty is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Sarasota Chapter of Florida Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Association of Woman Lawyers. She has a “BV” rating by Martindale Hubbell and is licensed to practice before all Florida State Courts.
